Mata Traders Spring/summer 2021 - Swimmers Print

Noting that dainty novelty prints had done well in the past, Mata Traders’ design director asked me to create a custom print for their SS21 season that depicted a scene at the beach in a soft, modern, illustrative style.

My goal was to capture a scene that reflected their (female founded) companies values - one depicting an inclusive, diverse scene of women all happily doing their own thing in the same space. Active swimmers, lifeguards, surfers, yogis and sunbathers coexist in this swimmers landscape.

This print was a favorite of Mata Traders’ design and merchandising team, and is featured in five pieces in their small collection - more than any other print this season.
